So you just spent an awesome few hours, day, night, whatever with your boy or girl, eh? And you've got something to show for it. Something you don't want the whole world, and especially your mother seeing, right? Well, relax, you can, if nothing else, reduce the appearance of the hickey.

If you wait to long to get rid of them, it will be nearly impossible, you have to act quickly. Sometimes, if you get them while their fresh, putting ice on them will help immensely. You should try that first. And then if that doesn't work, try these other things.

Try rubbing it. It's not guaranteed to work, but it does help. In fact, use a comb and just go over it several times, it breaks it up and helps move the appearance further under the skin. This is actually pretty helpful, I've discovered.

If you are a big green tea drinker, this will help too. Make yourself a cup of green tea, this is not actually going to help with the hickies, this will just calm you down a bit. Use the tea bags, or soak a cotton ball in the green tea and soak the hickies with it. There's some big scientific explanation about anti-oxidants and blood, but I don't remember it. So instead of making myself sound excrutiatingly dumb by trying, I'll just keep my fat trap shut.

There are some ointments you can buy that are supposed to help. I think vitamin K is helpful, but I don't really know, I've never used it.

These are just some ways I use to help. The faster you get around to taking care of it, the more likely they are to go away. I can't make any guarantees, of course, and I'm no dermatologist. If anything, it should reduce the appearance, which will make it easier to hide with close and make up.
