Male chest hair was at one time an absolute must for the man who wanted to attract women. The "medallion man" was actually considered cool at one time and a man with a smooth, hairless chest regarded as a wimp. How times have changed!

The question of chest hair and its attraction is one that should be answered by women. Is a hairy chest now regarded as "sexy" or is it more accurate to refer to it as "neanderthal"? Do women really consider a man with a hairy chest more masculine? Most people now would laugh at the sight of a hairy-chested man, shirt open almost to the navel and sporting a medallion resting on a bed of hair. Those days are gone thankfully.

Generations of young boys have stood in front of the mirror at home, stripped to the waist, searching for even the faintest signs of hair materializing on their smooth chests. They long for signs of hair growing to assure them that they were now entering manhood and regarding hair on the chest as a true sign of masculinity. What a disappointment when some realized they were going to have to go through life with a smooth, hairless chest. How could they ever live it down?

Modern man now realizes that a hairy chest has nothing to do with manliness. In fact, thanks to a number of celebrities who have removed their chest hair, the smooth effect is now more popular. Even when chest hair was considered fashionable, "medallion men" were generally viewed as posers who lacked class and possibly intelligence, somehow believing that chest hair made them more mature.

How times have changed indeed. There was a time when men without chest hair could buy a fake in a vain attempt to appear masculine. Now the trend is for men with hairy chests to have the hair removed. If you want to keep in step with the modern trend, it seems the key is to take the smooth approach. Yes chest was hot at one time, but not anymore!
