It has been said that mistakes are a better learning opportunity than successes and in some ways that's very true. When you make mistakes and figure out what you did wrong your online business will improve. The challenge is figuring out what went wrong and then correcting it. If you don't make changes you won't improve.

The fear of failure can be paralyzing. If you never try you certainly won't make mistakes but you'll never achieve success either. When you were a toddler and just learning to walk it never entered your mind you wouldn't succeed. No matter how many scrapped knees and bumped heads resulted, no matter how long it took, or how many tries, you eventually learned to walk. As a baby you learned from each of your mistakes and learned to walk.

Starting an online business can be compared to learning how to walk. It's a strange environment with lots of buzz words like up sell, back end, squeeze page, and split testing. It takes time to develop a product or find one you like, design a website, and drive traffic to it. But just like that baby if you believe you can do it and put forth the effort the odds are you will succeed. Just
remember babies don't learn to walk just by thinking about it, they take action.

In case you're wondering:
Up sell is a higher priced product that is offered to a customer after a lower priced product has already been bought by them.

Back-end is a product that is sold at the end - at the back - (back-end) of another product. It offers additional information that is relevant with the first product.

Squeeze page is a web page that offers a free report or ebook in exchange for the visitors name and email address.

Split testing is seeing which variation of a sales tool works the best.

Try a new method of marketing even if the method fails, at least you've learned it doesn't work. You can make a better decision in the future. Learning from your mistakes can lead to success in the future.
