Myspace was the first true social network that became a cultural phenomenon. People could post their photos and chat with friends. But Facebook which has become a Myspace "killer" has grown popular faster than Myspace ever did. But has it gone too far. People can see everything you do, every conversation, status updates, picture upload, comments, and even who you are dating. I find out more things about my friends from facebook than from actually talking to them. I can see who is dating who and which friend broke up with their boyfriend 4 times in one day. Myspace doesn't go as far to show you all the things your friends are up to. Facebook used to be more exclusive only allowing students to join the site. But now that they have dropped their standards anyone can join. And networks which made it even more exclusive were thrown out the window as well. Anyone whether it be a friend, foe, or future employer can go to your facebook and see everything that you have done or said. Some Private Schools even go as far as suspending their students for offensive language, conduct,or images that students post on their facebook. No one is safe anymore! There is always the option of putting your profile on private but the site doesn't really show you how. so if you have something to hide or don't want someone to see, then don't post it in the internet because in seconds millions of people have access to it. |
