How many ways are out there to lose weight? Let me count them, 1, 2, 10, 25....... you get the idea. They all have the same idea it's just that they all have their own little “spin”. Eat this, don't eat that, go here, buy this and on and on and on...... I just wanted to get rid of the flabby and get on with the fit!

So, after trying everyone else's little “spin” I realized that the best exercise I got was when I was cooking. That's right – while cooking. I noticed that every-time I filled a pot and took it to my stove or oven my hands, arms, stomach, back and even my butt muscles all tightened up. Sounds crazy but it's true.

So I decided to start an exercise program with my “pot”. I got my biggest pot which is my stock pot. I like it's size and it has sturdy handles. I filled it half-way with water. You can fill it to the level that's good for you.

I decided that the first area I wanted to work on was my upper torso/arms. Now of course, only do what you can physically handle and if you need doctor's supervision then by all means please use common sense and make sure you follow the program he/she deems satisfactory for you. There now, that's my disclaimer so please, make sure you use your head & some common sense. Don't over do it!

Arm exercises are done as such -

  • Place your feet in line with your shoulders. Hold the pot with water in it at waist level. Bending your arms at the elbow raise your pot as high as you can and then lower it back down. Do this in repetitions of 10 – or as many as you can do. I do this once and then I do the 2nd exercise and then I do the 3rd exercise and I then go back and do this one again. I do each of these 3 times.
  • The 1st exercise gives your biceps a real work-out so now it's time to give the triceps equal time. For the 2nd exercise you need to place the pot on the floor. Bend forward over the pot and make sure it's in line with your shoulders. Again make sure your legs are slightly spread so you can maintain your balance and decrease the stress on your lower back. While maintaining this position pick up the pot 10 times – or as many as you can do.
  • The 3rd exercise not only will strengthen your arms but your core body muscles as well. Again stand with your feet comfortably apart to maintain your balance. Pick up your pot and hold it at waist level. With this exercise you'll now bend over and place the pot on the floor and then raise back up and bring the pot to your waist level again. Do this 10 times – or as many as you can.

Ok, these are the beginning exercises and are a good start. Make sure to not over do it in the beginning. If you do this several times a day you'll be surprised at how fast you'll see your flab turn to fit! I saw results after only several days and I know others who said they could actually tell the next day.

Just be smart, don't over do it and you'll be as thrilled with the results of your body as I was. Remember, it's not about how much weight you lose, but how good you look in (or out of) your clothes!!

Remember to recycle the water too. Plants, animals, flushing the toilet, are some of the ways you can put your exercise equipment to good use when you're done.

Keep watching for more “pot” exercises to come!
