Are you suffering from a rotator cuff injury? Before rushing into surgery, its always a good idea to explore all your options. In many cases a shoulder injury can be healed naturally through intelligent rotator cuff rehabilitation exercises.

A lot of the information you read on rotator cuff injuries is often pretty grim and surgery or other intrusive measures are emphasized. But the reality is that many people are healing themselves naturally. I'm a prime example of natural healing. Over a year ago I noticed a dull ache in my right shoulder. I thought it would get better on its own with a little rest. It didn't. I realized I needed to take medical action, but was not too enthusiastic about surgery. Luckily, I found a good home rehabilitation program and seven months later I was pain-free and had full range of motion again.

What can rotator cuff rehabilitation do for you?

1. Increase circulation which encourages fast healing

2. Increase flexibility to regain full range of motion

3. Reduces swelling

4. Pain management

5. Strengthens the shoulder to prevent future injuries

Keep in mind that even the best rotator cuff therapy program still isn't going to be an overnight "miracle cure." Patience and consistency is the name of the game here. The rotator cuff is made up of a series of small muscles and tendons and doesn't receive a lot of blood flow. This can make healing a slow process. Stick with it and stay positive. Don't underestimate the power of positive thinking when it comes to healing the body. The mind/body connection is a scientific fact and should not be overlooked as part of a holistic healing approach.

A quick word of caution:
Don't be tempted to make up your own shoulder rehab program made up of random exercises you read about online. This is a risky approach and will probably only make your injury worse. Rotator cuff exercises must be done is a very specific and progressive manner. Only follow a program designed by a medical professional who specializes in these types of injuries
