Nintendo Wii is as innovative and interactive as its name (Wii being pronounced as "we"). So, what makes it different from other gaming consoles that we have in market like X box 360 and PS3? They all appear to be greatest contender to Nintendo Wii. Priced at around $250, it is a lot cheaper than its next closest competitor and is extremely unique. Unlike Xbox 360, it runs quietly and smoothly without making any humming sound. Wii scores over both PS3 and Xbox 360, as it not only provide you wireless gaming, but also physical gaming as the motion sensitive controllers makes the game as real as anything. As a matter of fact, in March 2008, according to research firm NPD in the US, Nintendo's Wii came on top of sales with 720,000 units. Microsoft sold more than 262,000 Xbox 360 consoles, before Sony's PlayStation 3, which is sold to 257,000 customers.

It's almost twice as fast and powerful than the earlier Nintendo's versions like GameCube. If you have ever loved racing games, I am sure you will also love Nintendo Wii. It's not only the fun associated with the gaming, but also the actual feel associated with it. Imagine being able to hit a backhand or a forehand just with the movement of your hand in a game of tennis or making the trajectory of a ball follow the movement of your hand. Interesting, isn't it?? All that is possible with a Wii remote paired with the Nunchuk controller. The main feature of the Wii Remote lies in its motion sensing capability, which allows the user to interact with and manipulate items on screen via movement pointing through the use of accelerometer and optical sensor technology. Another feature is the expandability through the use of attachments. Before you think it's a kids only console, let me tell you that a 62 title-strong launch lineup of new releases (including Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Red Steel and Rayman: Raving Rabbids) and classic favorites (e.g. software-emulated editions of Ice Hockey and Super Mario 64, and they are available for download) offers something for nearly everyone.

Unlike PS3, its backwards compatibility is also good. All the games that ran with previous consoles of Nintendo like GameCube can be run on Wii as well. Wii is a real fun when you are with your family or friends or in a party. It also provides for a parental control by allowing password protection for specific games. It also has the Sensor Bar, using which you can point at the screen using the remote.

Popular Wii games are priced at around $30-$50, while an X box or PS3 game can cost anywhere between $50-$70. Much has been written and discussed about wii's not so efficient graphics but that is not so. For a Wii you don't need to have a HDTV if you don't already have one. It also has a lot of neat features like wi-fi news channels and free shopping for mini games to play on the console. It is also compatible, sleek, better looking and small in size in comparison to PS3 and X box 360.
