There are many types of stun guns available in the market. It is up to the person to select the type, size and design of the stun gun according to his comfort and his needs.

The normal stun gun is a very simple stun gun and is the most commonly available stun gun in the market. The standard stun gun is about the size of the regular flashlight and uses a 9 volt battery to get the electric supply. The standard stun gun uses the electricity from the battery and sends the electricity to all the different parts of the stun gun. This standard stun gun has small electrodes at the bottom of the stun gun from where the current can go into the body of the attacker. It was the first type of stun gun and hence, the most commonly used. The stun gun affects the nervous system of the attacker and hence, immobilizes him.

Though a stun gun is much like a cattle prod in the way that it uses the electrical current coming from the two electrodes to the end of the stun gun. The cattle prod has a different way of working.

The cattle prod is designed to cause pain to the attacker.

A stun gun is like a cattle prod. They will use the electrical current that works from two electrodes on the end of it. The cattle prod works in a very different way. The cattle prod uses a very small voltage and hence, it does not stun the attacker. The cattle prod just gives him a shock and causes a great amount of pain to him. This does not immobilize him but sets him into motion with the pain.

The Taser gun is another type of the stun gun. The Taser Gun works similar to the stun gun. The only difference being that it does not join the electrodes at the housing. The electrodes are situated at the end of the wires for better conduction. When the trigger of the Taser Gun is pulled, the Taser Gun releases the electrode which is shot at the attacker. The electrodes leave the Taser Gun, but they are still attached to the Taser gun with the help of wires. The wires in the electrodes are still attached to the housing unit that supplies the current to the electrodes. It immobilizes the attacker just as the stun gun does. The advantage that the Taser gun has over the stun gun is that it can immobilize the attacker much away from the person. The Taser gun has a range of around 15 to 20 feet. This allows the person to keep the attacker at bay. Keep Safe Distance.
