Are you ready? This is it, one of the most powerful ways to increase your sales with very little effort and little or no up front costs: Hire someone! I know it wasn't the ancient secret passed down generation to generation from a distant land you were hoping for. Nevertheless it is simple, cheap and powerful. So you have a product, you hire a contractor (they don't actually work for you), when they get you a lead or sell your product for you, you give them some percent or set amount. There are tons of people around that live to do this type of work. It is a fantastic deal for them because they can work from home and ultimately make as much as they can generate.

Now of course this won't work for all types of businesses. For instance if you own a clothing outlet store finding a contractor to get customers to come in and spend $40 on a clothing purchase is not really feasible. But if you are creative you can apply this to many types of businesses in many different sectors.

Details...

You need to understand your sales people: It is important to be mindful of their needs to ensure that they are not only successful, but profitable so they will continue working for you. That means allowing immense flexibility, giving generous commissions on sales and leads, special incentives for top performers, promotions and sales to help your sales staff generate new sales and grab repeat customers, provide media (flyers, brochures, business cards), and give them any other information you have that may help their chances of creating a sale. Think of it this way, the more you work to make your sales people successful the more leads and sales you will have. Be creative, add contests, increase commissions in months that were typically lower in sales, maintain healthy relationships with them, give them flexibility in pricing for a cut in their commission. Just make sure you set up your sales program before you go in search for your sales team, and offer a document that details your business, any information about your market, key sales points/advantages, and the commission structure.

Where To Find Them

Thanks to the internet recruiting a small army of sales staff is pretty freakin' easy. There are a ton of free and low cost sites around that let you create job listings. Keep your listings professional to attract professionals in this field. Use the idea of creating your own income and work at home to help attract interested parties. Review the resumes carefully as you must keep in mind, the sales person is the face of your business. A customer may never see or talk to you, so your entire business image rests in the hands of your sales staff... Choose and treat them well.
