Installing a supercharger is one of the easiest performance upgrades you can do to a car. Because of the power given though, many believe it to be difficult and resort to having others do it for them. This guide will teach you the basics of installing your own supercharger quickly and effectively.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Hose clamps
  • Tappet or similar wrench
  • Hammer or mallet
  • Drill and drill bit

Step 1: Clean the insides of any hoses or other parts before attaching to prevent debris from hurting your newly installed supercharger.

Step 2: Attach the oil drain hose to the drain fitting and secure it using a hose clamp.

Step 3: Set the supercharger in the car. Make sure the oil drain line points downwards. Get underneath your car and install the oil line to the drain in the oil pan

Step 4: Attach idler assembly to supercharger with 12 mm or 3/4-inch bolts. Use your wrench to secure every bolt, don't miss any!

Step 5: Shove the intake elbow gently onto the supercharger. This will most likely be quite difficult. Using a mallet to add some force shouldn't cause any damage.

Step 6: You'll need to install the black elbow next, it should go from the fender to the inlet.

Step 7: Cut a hole for the air temperature sensor. Make sure to do this before you install the back elbow. A drill bit is the easiest way to make the hole. Place the sensor near the outer part of the elbow bend.

Step 8: There should be a tube connected to the airflow meter, you'll need to attach the elbow to it.

Step 9: Place hose clamps on the end of the inlet tube. This should allow you to slip the blue rubber hose on to the end of the inlet tube. This blue hose is normally located between the inlet tube and the back elbow.

That's all there is to it! Try to avoid buying used superchargers as they may not come with all of the required accessories. If you run into any troubles with the parts, realize that some force is normally needed, don't be too gentle.
