I walked the footpaths of a sordid clime, Stopped by a window at evening time. A paradigm dazzled in fluorescent light, I had so much onus, yet thirsty tonight. My mom needed some medicines to breathe, My dad had thrown me out in a seethe. I wanted to get my sister some food, My shelter needed a mending good. Torn between raptures of pleasure and joy, I took out the money I had to deploy. I entered the shop, after my fiend, Ignoring the path where my conscience leaned. I purchased the poison the color of coke, My empty pockets declared me broke. The drops touched my tongue in fluorescent light, Years of thirst it quenched tonight. Forgotten was life, my family's plights, For a moment's addiction to fantasy heights. Yes, I'm a sinner if I was meant to be, But I cannot live without Pepsi! |
