Roll of the Dice

Years ago a man

rolled the dice

and landed on "doubles"

such luck he thought.

That night he returned home

to entertain his computer

with this new idea

of finding lucky number two.

He spent hours, weeks,

days and nights in search

for just the one

to fit the new found game.

She was "perfect" he said

"ah" she blushed

thinking he meant

she was the "one."

Now the game has ended

Only no winners here

Doubles again, the wife and "the other."

Such a game--of broken hearts.
