Year 2009 is jam-packed with a lot of action, family and sequel movies to entertain the viewing public. This is going to be a great year for movie goers as this year promises a bunch of great Hollywood movies that will take them off their seats with action and suspense; and family can enjoy with fun and excitement as Disney is set to fill the screens with digitally enhanced visual effects of new and sequel animated movies. The following are my top 10 movies you should never miss to watch this year:

Monsters vs. Aliens (March 27): The second sequel of the Original Monsters, Inc. in 2001.This movie promises another remarkable adventure which starts when a Californian girl, Susan Murphy, mysteriously grows to a staggering 49 feet and 11 inches tall after being hit by a meteor full of space gunk. She is then held by the military and confined in a secret military compound full of other monsters. However, their imprisonment was cut short upon the arrival of alien robots which start destroying the world. The military tried to battle the robot invasion but to no avail. The Motley crew of Monsters is called into action and the battle begins.

Fast and Furious (April 3): Another action-packed sequel starred by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as they join team to blast their robust muscle cars across the streets of Los Angeles speeding up through the Mexican dessert. Long time rival ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) and agent Brian O-Conner (Walker) found themselves forced to unite as one team to fight a common enemy as this movie takes you on a high velocity speed race, crawling though tunnels and sprawling though desserts as they test the limits of their mean machines.

Angels and Demons (May 15): Based on the best-selling novel by Dan Brown; Angels and Demons depicts the story of a well-respected professor Robert Langdon (Hanks) who was able to decode a symbol on the skin of a murdered victim which led him to a trail of world-wide conspiracy involving the Roman Catholic Church.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (May 1): The X-men sequel focuses on the life story of Wolverine whose vicious and romantic past led him to join the weapon X program where he met other mutants and gained mastery over his powers.

Terminator Salvation (May 22): This is the first Terminator movie without the original terminator-Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story is set on the year 2018 where John Connor (Christian Bale), who is destined to lead a resistance army against Skynet and its terminators, suddenly encounters Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) who is believed to alter his future. Their journey is filled with action and suspense as they try to uncover the secret plot of SkyNet to exterminate the world.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (July1): The third sequel to Ice Age the movie originally shown way back in 2002. The adventure continues as Manny, Sid and Diego stumbled on the land of Dinosaurs.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (June 26): The Robot war continues in this second sequel of transformers as Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots returns in this action packed movie.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (July 17): Another installment of Harry Potter sequel where Harry Potter finds help from a half-blood prince. The war against the Valdemort continues and the Order of the Phoenix suffered great losses. Harry embarks on a quest to search for the story of a boy who would become Lord Voldemort.

G.I Joe: Rise of Cobra (August 7): Another line of Hasbro’s action figures is brought to life with this movie. G.I Joe stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity; a team of global operatives fully armed with high-tech gadgets to battle an evil organization called Cobra.

Spy Hunter. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson stars again in this action movie as Alec Sects, an ex-F15 pilot, who joins a government organization called Spy Hunters. Equipped with an experimental car, G-6155 interceptor, Alec and his team of spy hunters battle a powerful organization called NOSTRA and the battle of gadgets begin as they try to overcome each other.

There are still a lot more great movies scheduled to hit the screens around the world for this year. These are just my top 10 favorites; and movies to watch for this year 2009. So sit back, relax and enjoy the movies as they start showing one by one.
