I grew up in Los Angeles until 1987 so my life has become a search for solitude and nature and quietness.  I stayed in a ghost town in Montana for about 15 years.  It had about 100 people and was 6 miles up a dirt road.  I have a lot of stories about Montana like the time I was driving down a dirt road in between Canyon Creek Road and the Marysville Road.  The nearest store was 6 miles down this little road.  It was not accessible in winter snows so it was always fun to go that way as soon as the thaw allowed.

It was dusk and suddenly I saw elk in front of me and beside me and in back of me and I stopped the car...  and they started jumping the fence and it took me a while to realize what was going on.  Suddenly, I felt exhilarated in the midst of these large elusive beasts.  I was right in the middle of the herd. A moment in time to never ever forget!!!  Never experienced that in Los Angeles or anywhere else!!!  That makes me a full on bonafide country girl now!!!

Now don't go telling all those hunter boys where I saw them.  I am counting on you to keep my secret!!!  If you're quiet about this I will tell you where the herd is over here in Western Washington where I live now! Shhhhhhh!
